Morning Prayer
translated and passed on by Elva Amaya, Nelda's faith-filled, loving Mother
Lord in the silence of this new day I come to ask for
peace,
knowledge,
and
strength.
Today I want to see the world with eyes full of
love, patience, compassion, gentleness, and goodness.
Let me look beyond the appearance of your children,
and see them as you see them,
so that I can appreciate the goodnesss of each one.
Cose my eyes and ears to all gossip
and guard my tongue from all malice
so that only the thoughts of blessings
shall remain in me.
I want to be well intentioned and just
so that all who come near me feel your presence.
Strengthen me with your goodness Lord
and let me be a reflection of you today.
Amen.
